What we mean by the informal left, is the part of the left that are anti-formal organisation due to certain biases and assumptions about organisation as being always hierarchical and bureaucratic. The informal left would include your affinity groups and autonomist collectives. They are informal because they either lack structure entirely, or if they do have some agreements, they’re not meaningfully implemented and require “clique political unity”.
