Capitalism is a system where the dominant mode of production requires private owners of capital (those who control the means of production, transportation etc.) extract and profit from the labour of workers, who are coerced to work for capitalists so they can get their basic material needs met. Capitalism, as well know it today, is built off the backs of colonised and imperialised lands and peoples, and consolidated through states and multinational corporations today.
